Good Sunday evening, Ettrick Family members! This is Dr. Smith, calling with your Sunday evening updates and reminders! Parents - you will be excited to hear that Summer Break will be ending in TWO WEEKS!! That’s right! Two short weeks from tomorrow, on August 21st, you will be able to send your PreK - 5th-grade students off to Ettrick Elementary from 9:20 AM until 3:55 PM for a full instructional day!! To make sure you’re ready to take full advantage of this great opportunity, please make sure that you’ve completed the following no later than August 18th:
Complete your child’s Transportation Information in ParentVue
Complete the Car Rider forms if your child will be a car-rider
Complete the Walker form if your child will be walking to/from school
Make sure all shot records are current and submitted to the school
Ensure ALL registration paperwork has been turned in to the school office (if you’re a new family)
Update your address with our school office if your address has changed over the summer
Gather and label School Supplies
Complete the required CCPS Volunteer Form (good for two years)
In addition to field trips, Ettrick will be looking for adult family members to get involved with the school by volunteering. Volunteers could help Mrs. Kyser with reshelving books in the library, assist our Instructional Aides with cafeteria duty, help classroom teachers with sorting materials, or even conduct intervention groups in classrooms, just to name a few. However, none of these opportunities can be completed without a completed and approved CCPS Volunteer Form. The form takes about 5 minutes to complete, but it can take up to two weeks for it to be approved and returned to the school. If you think you might want to volunteer in the school or chaperone on a field trip this year, please complete the Volunteer Form now so that you won’t be denied the opportunity to go.
Finally, make sure you’ve marked your calendar for Kindergarten Orientation on August 17th from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM, as well as the evening of August 17th from 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM for our 4th Annual Back to School Block Party and Supply Drop Off.
